“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”

Jeremiah 29:11-12

Cambodia 1 Going into Cambodia I had no idea that this trip would affect me the way it did and change my view about missions. I seemed to have this picture in my head that going to a foreign country would be all roses with only smiles and laughter. After being in Cambodia for 2 months I realized that it was actually one of the hardest things I’ve done…and if I had to choose to do it again…you’d better believe I’d jump on a plane tomorrow!

These smiling faces, these precious children of God are one of the main reasons why I would do this again and again! I could never fully put into words the impact they made on me. Every day that I taught English to the children, read stories and served in any way I could the more my heart grew for them.
Cambodia 2 I learned so much on this trip, it stretched me spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally. I remember when I filled out the application for DTS (Discipleship Training School) it asked the question, “What is something you want to gain from DTS?” I wrote that I wanted confidence, boldness and a deeper relationship with God and boy did I get what I wanted! The Lord is so funny sometimes, because in my mind I thought He was going to strengthen my confidence in talking to people about Jesus, which He did, but He decided to focus on my confidence and boldness as a leader.
Cambodia 3 At the beginning of the school I had very little of those attributes. I thought I was incapable of being a good leader. The thought of it scared me half to death. So guess what I was doing most of my time in Cambodia? That’s right…leading! I lead dance classes, taught English every day, lead small group, shared my testimony and gave a teaching in front of a whole church! Over the past 5 months, especially my time in Cambodia, the Lord stomped on the lies I was believing and showed me that I can do all things with His strength. Every time I had to do something that involved leading I knew that He was right beside me and that I didn’t have to do it alone. He gave me the perfect words to say every time I would speak in front of people. God is so faithful. He never once left me alone; He was there every moment of every day.
Cambodia 4 My relationship with Jesus is stronger and deeper than it ever has been. He changed my life through DTS and especially through dance. Dance Track has been truly amazing. I’ve experienced God while dancing like I never have before! I am so blessed to have had this opportunity and now I’m ready to start my next adventure!

Next Steps:

YWAM Charlotte has a 3 month long secondary school called SOLDOut (School of Leadership Development and Outreach) which begins April 2nd 2016. During our last week in Cambodia the Lord spoke to me and showed me that He is calling me to be part of SOLDOut. This will help me grow in leadership and allow me to continue dancing.

Also, I have an opportunity to travel to Scotland for 10 days at the end of SOLDOut to be a part of YWAM Scotland’s outreach called Shine. Every August millions of people from all over the world attend Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival which is the largest arts festival in the world. The other dancers on the team and I, along with thousands of other YWAMers would be preforming in the festival with over 20,000 other participants. YWAM Scotland’s goal is to spread the love of Christ through the arts to millions of people eager to watch and listen.

I am very blessed to have friends and family who support what I am doing. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement throughout my last endeavor; they were very much needed and appreciated. Cambodia 6 I ask for a continuation of your prayers as details are still being finalized.

Scotland, SOLDOut, and funds to keep my car during this time are estimated to be around 4-5 thousand dollars. If you would like to support me though funding please contact me at any time or visit the GoFundMe page I created.

Thank you again! I pray you and your family are blessed and have a wonderful Easter!
