Gely and I have been hard at work at updating our 17 year old home (ok, mostly Gely). As you can tell from previous posts we’ve been doing some major repairs to our HVAC, water heater, appliances, etc. But it was time for us to get started with something we could see every day and enjoy; the kitchen. Our wonderful home has lots of natural light from the windows, but that has caused some yellowing in our cabinets and wood floors.
Gely did lots of research on how to paint cabinets and I wanted the finish to look perfect. We decided to spray paint them in our garage and erected a make shift paint booth. 25+ cabinets and drawers with two coats of primer, two coats of paint, and three coats of polyurethane, was a lot of work, but in the end they look great.
I thought the floors and granite was best left to the professionals. We went to the beach while we were waiting for the floor guys to finish up. So nice to have that down time. Then of course new living room furniture was needed. Then Gely painted our dining room table; it looks fabulous! All this and our home looks great.
